CDL Driver / Machinery Mover / Millwright - Coffeyville, KS
Position Goals

  • Ensure jobs meet their deadlines within budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.

Summary

  • Transport loads of various types and weights from one point to another without damage to the object moved, property or personnel. Driver is a job function of the Rigger or Operator positions. This position acts in conjunction as a Laborer, Machinery Mover, Millwright, Rigger and/or Operator.

Responsibilities

  • Acts in a combined capacity as driver/machinery mover/millwright/laborer
  • Align, level, and anchor machinery and assures that lifting gear is inspected prior to use
  • Assures that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps

  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.

  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials; test rigging to ensure safety and reliability
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements & Skills

  • Three (3) years’ experience as CDL-A Driver driving like or similar vehicles preferred
  • Extremely safety conscious with an outstanding safety record.
  • Clean Class A CDL
  • At least 1 year experience in machinery moving, millwright and load rigging preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience with Over Weight and Oversized Loads preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must pass drug test, fit-for duty test and background check
  • Must have knowledge of Machinery Moving or Millwright

Working Conditions

  • One year experience as crane operator
  • Completion of High School or secondary education is preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment testing included but not limited to: fit-for duty test, back exam & background check

Position Goals: Repair and maintain equipment for use or resale.

  • This position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity,
    efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the
    provision of effective methods and strategies.
  •  Communicate results and plans on a regular basis to the President and leadership team.
  • Ensure that departments work together, logistically, as a team to produce the best result.
  • Work with owner and managers to resolve issues and to identify and achieve goals by
    formulating and implementing processes.
  • Ensure adherence to rules, regulations and procedures including SAFETY and
    compliance.
  • Ensure staffing requirements are met.
  • Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure staffs are properly training and seeking growth.
  • Work with other Department Managers to improve the efficiency of support services such
    as IT, Safety and Compliance, Marketing, and Accounting/Finance.
  • Keep abreast and implement current advances in technology as it applies to the operation
    needs of the business.
  • Review and escalate service contracts presented by customers to our in house and 3rd
    party legal insurance team when necessary. Communicating any change requests to
    customers.
  • Understand insurance coverages and plans and escalate as necessary.
  • Networking with customers and trade associations.
  • Ensure facility and equipment maintenance needs are met.

Requirements & Skills:

  • B.S./B.A. in Business Administration, Accounting, Construction Management, Industrial
    Technology or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Operations management experience in crane and rigging field or related industrial fields
    such as equipment, transportation, manufacturing, etc.

      Summary

      •  The employee performs a full range of maintenance, repair and service activities on
        heavy equipment. The employee uses considerable independent judgment in making decisions
        without the availability of supervision. Repairs, assemble, install, maintain and dissemble
        machinery, vehicles and equipment in Taylor Crane & Rigging.

      Responsibilities

      •  Be able to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
        Diagnose faults or malfunctions, service and repair various systems that are found on
        pieces of heavy equipment. Test mechanical products/equipment after repair or assembly
        to ensure proper performance and compliance.
      • Be able to schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment while keeping
        equipment service records. Perform maintenance and repair on various heavy equipment
        including but not limited to heavy duty truck and semi tractors, cranes, forklifts, and
        other vehicles or equipment. This includes routine maintenance checks and adjustments
        on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches.

      Requirements & Skills

      • Class A CDL with no violations; or valid driver’s license with no suspensions
      • Candidates must have at least 3+ years of mechanic experience with heavy equipment.
      • Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair
        and maintenance of motor vehicles and engines.
      • Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of
        motorized vehicles and equipment.
      • Skill in the use of mechanized tools, jacks, and hoists.
      • Skill in the use of a variety of diagnostic testing and tuning equipment.
      • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions using manuals and
        schematics.
      • AFC certification preferred
      • Ability to track daily work so that the shop manager can effectively enter data into
        maintenance software.

      Requirements & Skills

      • Three (3) years’ experience as CDL-A Driver driving like or similar vehicles preferred

      • Clean Class A CDL
      • At least 1 year experience in machinery moving, millwright and load rigging preferred
      • High School Diploma
      • Experience with Over Weight and Oversized Loads preferred.
      • Must be willing to travel

      Heavy Equipment Mechanic

      Position Goals

      Performs a variety of activities designed to service, repair and maintain pieces of Taylor Crane & Rigging heavy equipment. The work is performed through the application of a body of knowledge and specific certifications that denote expertise in heavy equipment maintenance.

      Summary

      • The employee performs a full range of maintenance, repair and service activities on heavy equipment. The employee uses considerable independent judgment in making decisions without the availability of supervision. Repairs, assemble, install, maintain and dissemble machinery, vehicles and equipment in Taylor Crane & Rigging.

      Responsibilities

      • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
      • Performs maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment including but not limited to heavy-duty truck and semi-tractors, cranes, forklifts, and other vehicles or equipment.
      • Diagnoses, services and repairs various systems that are found on pieces of heavy equipment such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, computer controlled automatic and 13 speed manual transmissions, high voltage generators, propane powered equipment, and pneumatic systems.
      • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
      • Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment.
      • Services, diagnoses, repairs and maintains speed tandem drive axles with air or electric shift, hydro-static driven, heavy duty multi-axle suspensions, both conventional steel or air springs.
      • Tunes gas and diesel engines, services valves, fuel filters and turbo chargers, and pressure checks fuel filters, adjust injector heights, fuel racks, governors, etc.
      • Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records.
      • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, wiring schematics and technical drawings.
      • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
      • Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears.
      • Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
      • Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
      • Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace sub-assemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes.
      • Diagnoses problems, disassembles units, repairs or replaces parts, and reassembles units in the following systems:
      • Brakes: Repairs or replaces shoes, pads, drums, hoses, calipers, cylinders, any heavy-duty air
      • Cooling: Flushes radiator replaces hoses and thermostat, repairs or replaces radiator and water pump, fan drives, DCA treatment filters, air intercoolers and oil coolers.
      • Drive: Repairs and replaces drive shaft, differential, axle, manual, automatic and sophisticated computer-controlled transmissions, clutches, transfer cases, power take-off systems, transmission reversers, all wheel drive steering axles and final drives.
      • Fabricate needed parts or items.
      • Direct workers who are assembling or disassembling equipment or cleaning parts.

      Requirements & Skills

      • Class A CDL with no violations; or valid drivers license with no suspensions
      • Candidate must have at least 5+ years of mechanic experience with heavy equipment.
      • Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and engines.
      • Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of motorized vehicles and equipment.
